Bilingual Guide

Up to the Tigre delta and the neighbourhood of Victoria to see the star of Buenos Aires' Zona Norte region at the Estadio Dellagiovanna.

The Coliseo is a little off the beaten football track but offers all the sights, sounds and colours of an Argentine fútbol game - with our help you can enjoy the mayhem with none of the hassle.

CA Tigre - who are known as the Matador (killers), are the most famous and widely supported team in the northern area of greater Buenos Aires. In contrast to the southern area where the railway line is dotted with famous teams at every train stop, Zona Norte has less teams relatively speaking and Tigre are definitely the pick of the bunch in terms of history and achievements. They have over 50 seasons in Primera and are really well supported.

🏆 Club Atlético Tigre most recently won the Copa de la Liga championship in 2019 beating the legendary Boca Juniors in the final . Although they were also relegated that same season on the 3-year average rule. However they have sinced bounced back and narrowly lost the 2022 final to the Xeneize.

What to wear - Try to wear blue and red colours if possible and don't wear obvious brown clothes 🚫 as this is the colour of the rival Platense.

Where we’ll meet - We’ll meet in Palermo/Recoleta and you’ll get to know the group.
Your bilingual guides will explain the context of Argentine football, the day’s game and Boca’s history. More importantly, they’ll let you know exactly what you need to do and be aware of to be one of the lucky few to gain entry into the mythical Estadio Alberto J Armando.

From there we'll get the train north to the Río de la Plata delta and enjoy a beer and a bite to eat with the Tigre fans at the Previa (pre-game). After you’ll head into the ground: the guides will help you navigate the various Police & Stewarding controls and find the best point of entry as many access points are closed.

Where we’ll be - Inside we'll be very close to the action, and just as importantly, the Ultra fan groups behind the goals, the Barra del Matador. The Barra Brava are often illicit organised fan groups and a key to the occasion as they provide constant support throughout the 90 minutes. We will be up close and personal so bring your cheering voice and comfortable shoes - ready to join in the action!

Will I be safe? - Argentine grounds are quite old and ill-maintained, while this is great aesthetically, it means they don’t have the best health & safety measures and a disappointed crowd can be impatient - again, we’ll be with you to ensure there is no trouble leaving the ground and home again.

Important to know

  • For some clubs, tickets are very hard to come by and are available exclusively to members, to sponsors, or can only be found through various levels of re-sale. For others, tickets are available but can only be bought in-person, with local ID/bank cards, or through various other inventive ways of wasting your time. We will make sure to find tickets for you and guarantee their authenticity.
  • The access to the stadium is filled with different controls and security checks in which police and fans get mixed up, sometimes creating tension. Our expert guides have navigated these sites dozens of times, know the ins and outs, and can anticipate and handle these situations so you don’t have to.
  • Many football fans in Argentina are not used to seeing tourists and barely speak English. In a way, this is what makes our experience truly authentic, and we will help with Spanish so no language barriers affect your match-day.
  • Many supporters will appreciate it if you show your support through your clothing, by wearing the club's merchandise like a shirt, beanie, jacket, etc. Dressing with the club colours will be fine, but if you want a jersey make sure to take a look at our store.
  • Football in Argentina is an amazing subculture. Our expert guide will let you know everything you need about the context of the game, the history of the clubs, the traditional pre-game rituals, the meaning of the songs you will hear, the significance of the flags and symbols, and more.
  • The chaos and unpredictability in Argentine football are what makes it uniquely beautiful, and uniquely frustrating. The League often decides fixtures at the last moment, and changes can happen late on also. If this is the case, we will let you know in advance for you to make a decision according to your availability.

***Please note, each game requires a minimum number of total bookings to go ahead, we will inform you if the threshold is not reached***
