Founded in 1904
El Semillero del Mundo, the nursery of the world. Argentinos are based in the Buenos Aires neighborhood of La Paternal and while not one of the famous 'Big 5', they are many people's 2nd team. That's due to the fact they are known to produce some of the best young players in the country who go on to play for the biggest clubs, such as Fernando Redondo, Juan Román Riquleme and Esteban Cambiasso. The most famous of all of course is Diego Maradona, who joined the famous Cebollitas (little onions) youth team aged 10 and played 5 years in the first team before moving to Boca Juniors for a then-record $1million dollars.
El Bicho Colorado (the red bug) was founded by a group of anarchists named the 'Martyrs of Chicago' in honour of the 7 executed in the wake of the Haymarket affair. They chose red as their shirt colour as a nod to socialism but had to change to green and white in the early years as Independiente already wore red.
